Why this exists

A short version of what we're building and why it's built this way.

Most people who get burned by a wallet find out what happened only after the money is gone. ARGUS exists to move that moment earlier — to the point right before you accept a payment, not the point right after.

The problem with most scoring

A lot of AML tooling treats contact as guilt: if a wallet ever touched a mixer, everything downstream of it gets flagged, regardless of distance or amount. That produces so many false positives that people stop trusting the tool — and once they stop trusting it, it stops doing its job.

We built this around a different premise: exposure should be weighted by how much value actually travelled a path and how far it travelled, not by whether the path exists at all. A wallet nine hops downstream of a mixer, having received a diluted fraction of the original amount, is a different situation from one that received a direct withdrawal — and it should be scored differently.

What we’re transparent about

  • Every score on this site opens into the evidence behind it — the counterparty, the hop count, the value, the date.
  • We say plainly when a report is illustrative or when data is unattributed, rather than presenting a guess as certainty.
  • We are not a licensed compliance provider, and we say so — see the Terms of Service.

Where we are

ARGUS is in active development. Coverage, attribution depth, and the set of supported networks are expanding; the method page describes the current scoring layers as they stand today, and will be updated as they change.
